- Man I hate listing my past employment. I really screwed up taking that last job. Why did I do that?
- References, references, references. Who do other people put on these?
- What else is out there besides secretary or retail slave?
- What was the point of going to college?
- Why aren't I more confident?
- I hate my work history.
- I suck.
you are mistaken... you do not suck! What you need is to screw up your confidence and apply for jobs you WANT, not the jobs *you* think you're qualified for. Let potential employers make that decision. A positive attitude goes a long way. Now, go out there and get 'em, BakerGirl!

When I quit the law firm, I did a LOT of soul searching about what I COULD do besides practice law and I was somehow able to zap my self confidence singlehandledly in my own head. haha.. You dont suck, girl. At all. Advice: contact bigger companies and ask for their recruiting department. If you speak to a recruiter, they can often direct you to jobs you might enjoy and would be good at inside their organization. :)

ReplyDeleteOh gosh I laugh only because I know exactly what you are talking about! uggggg... there is nothing fun about any of those jobs, wait for one you love even if you make no money. The price of keeping your self worth is so worth the pay cut. Anyways I write that as I sit behind a desk answering phones and staring at a screen m-f keeping my mouth shut as I nod my head and play stupid. haha so I am only one to give advice because I am on the other end. Goodluck and you totally don't suck.
