Hey everyone,
I just wanted to take a minute to point you all in MODG's direction. See, she started this amazing movement to help our fellow bloggers out this holiday season and it's totally taken off. However, we need to keep the momentum going and continue to reach out and help those who are struggling to make ends meet.
As we all know, economically times have been tough and while many of us are living paycheck to paycheck there are those who can't even do that. Whether it's because a spouse has lost a job and hasn't been able to secure another one, or health issues have overwhelmed finances or just a combination of little problems that snowball into one big problem.
Trust me when I say every little bit helps. As everyone on the internet knows, Dr. J and I are not rolling in the dough and I'm constantly putting in applications for work with no luck since moving to NY. However, we can spare the ten or fifteen dollars to help someone buy diapers or wipes. I can sort through my clothes to put together a package for a teenager who wears my same size (she'll probably hate my boring clothes though. . . ;-) ). My point? Don't write off your ability to help because you aren't financially flush. We can all find a way to help.
So please, take a minute and check out the OWANA forums. I promise that helping one person out who *truly* needs it will spread more holiday cheer through your veins than that purse you've been eyeing.
