2011 has come and gone. Looking back, it wasn't a terrible year and it wasn't a great year. I grew a little and started to enjoy NY more. This past year was when I finally started to get on my feet again after our move to NY and I found my mental happy place once more. Things that I did in 2011:
- Found and started attending a MO shul every week.
- Finally started meeting people in the community.
- Moved forward with my conversion after years of searching for the right movement/Rabbi/community.
- Got a dog! (Yay Fitz! He makes our lives better.)
- Completed my EMT certification.
- Started running and working out regularly.
- Ran a 5K!
- Made my first NY friends who really feel like friends.
- Met lots of NY bloggers.
- Joined a volunteer FD to work as a Firemedic.
- Visited Maine (Finally!)
- Started studying for the GRE.
- Started Hebrew classes.
- Signed up to run the NY 1/2 Marathon in 2012 for Team Sharsheret!
2011 wasn't the worst year of my life by far, but I have high hopes that 2012 will be even better.
Here's to another year of great fun, great friends and many more learning experiences.
I hope everyone had fun ringing in the new year last night!

Hope 2012 is a great year for you!
